In line with the Bank of Ghana’s directive, effective July 1, 2022, the Ghana Card, also known as the ECOWAS Identity Card, is now the sole identification required for all banking transactions in Ghana. Mepe Area Rural Bank PLC is advising all customers to present their Ghana Card when conducting business at any of our branches to ensure compliance and seamless service. This mandate, supported by Regulation 7 of the National Identity Register, 2012 (L.I. 2111), aims to enhance the security and efficiency of Ghana’s financial system.
